QPR entertain Huddersfield at Loftus Road in a must-win clash in the race for Championship survival.
Victory would see QPR move out of the relegation zone at Huddersfield’s expense, whilst the Terriers can stay 21st with a win but move six points clear of the bottom three.
Team News
Paul Smyth is set to return for QPR after he missed their win over Millwall due to injury.
Rayan Kolli (leg) remains sidelined.
Huddersfield could welcome Matty Pearson back into contention following his recovery from a calf injury.
Radinio Balker (illness) is a doubt but Ollie Turton, Jaheim Headley (both knee), Delano Burgzorg (ankle), Chris Maxwell, Kian Harratt, Patrick Jones (all hamstring), Danny Ward (Achilles) and Josh Ruffels (groin) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
QPR host Huddersfield at 1:30pm GMT on Sunday 28 January at Loftus Road, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- QPR have won one of their last 12 meetings against Huddersfield (W1, D4, L7).
- Huddersfield are unbeaten in five of their last six visits to QPR (W3, D2, L1).
- QPR have kept just one clean sheet at home in their last seven meetings against Huddersfield, which came in a 1-0 win in November 2021.
- QPR have kept just one clean sheet in their last five home matches in all competitions (W1, L4).
- Huddersfield are winless in their last six away matches in all competitions (D3, L3).
Prediction
Following their clinical win against Millwall who only produced one shot onto the Hoops’ goal, QPR now need to use that performance as a launchpad to kick on and boost their survival hopes – especially after they managed a rare clean sheet as defeat would be a big knockback.
Huddersfield meanwhile need a huge away performance here because their away form is pretty poor to be frank, although we won’t know how important their scrappy draws will be until end of this season but I would like to see better end producct and a more solid defence.
QPR however do seem to have turned a corner and if they can play like they’ve done in recent weeks, I do feel like they might just edge this game unless Huddersfield can scrape a draw.
Prediction: QPR 1-0 Huddersfield
Result: QPR 1-1 Huddersfield
