2023-24 Premier League: Week 17 – Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham

Nottingham Forest host Premier Legue title-chasing Tottenham Hotspur at the City Ground.

Victory would see Forest climb one position to 15th in the table, whilst Tottenham will stay fifth regardless of their result although a win would move them level on points with fourth-placed Manchester City.

Prediction

Amidst heavy pressure on manager – Steve Cooper with no win in their last five games, Forest just seem to lack an accurate end product because their performances haven’t exactly been awful aside from away at Fulham.

Forest’s defending however is quite sloppy at times which Wolves exposed clinically with a well-worked attacking move, which was left unmarked for Matheus Cunha to finish unchallenged so Cooper’s Reds will need to be more solid at the back in this game.

Tottenham meanwhile were absolutely disciplined with a great high-intensity press and clinical end product against a fatigued Newcastle defence, but they will certainly need to show more composure here against a fresher Forest defence who will cause issues off the ball.

I however don’t know which Forest to expect because of how inconsistent they can be but if Spurs play like they did last weekend, I can see them coming away with a positive win which will put them right back in the title mix.

Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur

Result: Nottingham Forest 0-2 Tottenham Hotspur
