Antoni Sarcevic is a doubt for Stockport after he limped out of their 1-1 draw at Morecambe in League Two last weekend.

Aldershot have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 2-2 draw at Eastleigh in the National League.

Christian Maghoma is their only absentee with a long-term Achilles injury.

• Stockport drew 2-2 in their only previous FA Cup meeting against Aldershot Town, which came in the original tie earlier this month.
• Aldershot Town are visiting Stockport for the first time in the FA Cup, although they drew 2-2 in their only previous visit to Stockport in September 2010 in League Two.
• Two of the three previous meetings between Stockport and Aldershot in all competitions finished in a 2-2 draw.
• Stockport have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five FA Cup matches (W2, D2, L1).
• Victory would see Aldershot advance to the Third Round for the first time since 2012-13 season.

 

Prediction

Without a win in their last five games – of which four matches were away from home, Stockport will be glad to be at home for this replay but they need to find their mojo again if they want to push on and an early goal might be what they need.

Aldershot meanwhile have kept just one clean sheet in their last five matches but clearly have fantastic attacking quality, as evidenced by 44 goals across their last 20 matches which has to inspire belief that they can spring a giant killing.

This clash therefore shouldn’t be lacking in goals given the defensive vulnerablities within both teams but Aldershot’s goalscoring momentum will take some stopping, so I just feel that they might just have the edge if can score first otherwise this could well have penalties written all over it.
