Van Amersfoort Racing have signed Red Bull junior, Enzo Fittipaldi for the 2024 F2 season.

Fittipaldi spent his second full season in F2 racing for Carlin during which he claimed his first win in the category in the Belgian Sprint, plus four further podium finishes as he finished seventh in the staindings.

The Brazilian though lost his seat to Ritomo Miyata but will remain on the grid after he completed a successful post-season test with Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) in Abu Dhabi.

I am very excited to be a part of Van Amersfoort Racing,” commented Fittipaldi. “The team and I had a positive first experience working together during the F2 post-season test in Abu Dhabi last week.

“Right now, I am looking forward to next season, which will be a new challenge for all. Racing in the new 2024 F2 cars will be exciting, and I am confident that the team and I will have a great season together.”

VAR  Team Principal, Frits van Amersfoort praised the 22 year-old Brazilian for his work ethic as he added: “During the F2 post-season test, we have experienced that Enzo is a great character to work with.

“He is a great fit for our team, and his experience in F2 will be beneficial as we head into a new era of Formula 2. We’re thrilled to have him on board and look forward to the upcoming season together.”

VAR will be Fittipaldi’s third team in F2 since he made his debut for Charouz midway through the 2021 season, which ended early after a high-impact collision with ART GP’s Theo Pourchaire in the Saudi Arabian Feature Race.

Fittipaldi bounced back from a right-heel fracture last season which saw him claim six podium finishes, consisting of three second-placed and third-placed finishes apiece as he finished that campaign in eighth position.

Confirmation of Fittipaldi’s F2 seat comes after his fellow Red Bull junior, Oliver Goethe announced he would stay in F3 for next season but switch from Trident to Campos.
