Stat Attack
- This is Brentford’s first Premier League meeting against Luton.
- Luton are winless in their last 10 league visits to Brentford (D3, L7), including a 1-0 loss at the Bees’ current home in January 2021.
- Brentford have scored 12 goals in their last four league matches at home to Luton without conceding (W4).
- Brentford have scored in six of their eight home games in all competitions this season, except for a pair of 1-0 losses to Arsenal in League and Carabao Cup.
- Luton have conceded first in six of their seven away games in the league this season, except for a 2-1 win at Everton in September 2023.
Prediction
Having delivered a composed and disciplined performance against Arsenal amidst wasted chances, Brentford will of been disappointed to have not snatched a point with a late conceded header but this is a chance to deliver a strong reaction if can play more clinically up front.
Luton meanwhile executed a brilliantly clinical victory over Crystal Palace with some great attacking play, although Thomas Kaminski’s fantastic goalkeeping was key to frustrating Palace and I do expect him to be busy again here.
Rob Edwards’ Hatters though do have an away hoodoo against the Bees but if they play with the same attacking spirit and cohesive defending, I can see them seriously snatching a draw if can handle the pace of Brentford’s turnovers into counter-attacks.
Prediction: Brentford 1-1 Luton
Result: Brentford 3-1 Luton
