2023-24 Sky Bet Championship: Week 19 – Friday

Preston look to reignite their push for the Championship Play-Offs against relegation-battling QPR at Deepdale.

Victory would see Preston return to sixth in the table, whilst QPR will stay third bottom with a win but can move to within three points of safety heading into the weekend.

Preston have no fresh injury concerns to report with a full squad available for selection,as Robbie Brady returns after he was suspended for their defeat at Middlesbrough in midweek.

QPR have no injury concerns after beating Stoke on Tuesday evening, with Morgan Fox (knee) the only definite absentee.

When is Kick-Off?

Preston host QPR at Deepdale on Friday 1 December in a 8pm GMT kick-off, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Preston are unbeaten in four of their last six meetings against QPR (W3, D1, L2).
  • QPR have claimed seven points in their last seven visits to Preston (W2, D1, L4).
  • Only one of the last 11 meetings between Preston and QPR at Deepdale have ended in a goalless draw.
  • Milutin Osmajic has scored in each of Preston’s last three home matches, albeit in the second half (W1, D1, L1).
  • Ilias Chair has been booked in three of QPR’s last four away matches.

Prediction

After they suffered a 4-0 defeat at Middlesbrough with some awful defending and lacklustre attacking play with no shots on target, Preston must now reset and look to rediscover their early-season spark because they just seem to have lost their way.

QPR meanwhile might still be in a relegation scrap but are beginning to get their act together and that midweek win over Stoke might be the spark that they need to kick on, but they must show more of that quality here.

Ryan Lowe’s Preston though will be fired up to produce a reaction to their midweek effort so I do expect them to be motivated, but they have struggled to dominate games lately in term of attack which QPR surely have to target whilst being clinical up front themselves.

With that in mind, I do expect this game to be a tough encounter and a draw might be a fair result.

Prediction: Preston 1-1 QPR

Result: Preston 0-2 QPR
