Rangers welcome Aris Limassol to Ibrox in their penultimate Group C clash in 2023-24 UEFA Europa League.
Victory would see Rangers move top if Real Betis lose to Sparta Prague, although the Gers can seal qualification for the knockout stages with a win if Sparta fail to beat Betis.
Aris Limassol meanwhile must win to keep their qualification dreams alive, although they can go third if can better Sparta’s result.
Team News
Nicolas Raskin is Rangers’ only absentee with an ankle injury.
Aris Limassol could be without striker, Yannick Gomis after he missed their domestic win over APOEL with an unspecified injury.
When is Kick-Off?
Rangers host Aris Limassol at Ibrox on Thursday 30 November in a 8pm GMT kick-off, live on TNT Sport 3 in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Rangers lost their only previous meeting against Aris Limassol by a 2-1 away result in October 2023.
- Aris Limassol are visiting Rangers for the very first time at Ibrox in all UEFA competitions.
- Two of Rangers’ four goals in the group have been scored by Abdallah Sima.
- One of Aris Limassol’s five goals in the group was scored from the penalty spot, courtsey of Aleksandr Kokorin in their opening group defeat at Sparta Prague.
Prediction
With their defeat away to Aris Limassol having come at a time of inconsistency for Rangers, they are now in a stronger place coming into this game with no defeats since that trip so I do expect them to be more competitive especially with a chance to seal qualification at home.
Aris Limassol though can’t be totally discounted because as underdogs, they have proven difficult opposition in this group but their defence is their weak point, which might well play to Rangers’ advantage now that they have momentum behind them.
Although Aris Limassol can’t be written off, I just can’t see Rangers losing this but they might just concede a goal.
Prediction: Rangers 2-1 Aris Limassol
Result: Rangers 1-1 Aris Limassol
