Galatasaray host Manchester United at Rams Park in a blockbuster Group A showdown in 2023-24 UEFA Champions League.
Victory would see Galatasaray stay second in the group whilst Man Utd can leapfrog their Turkish hosts with a win, but defeat would eliminate the Red Devils.
Team News
Galatasaray have no fresh injury concerns to report with a full squad available for selection but Sergio Oliveira is one booking away from an one-match ban.
Davinson Sanchez and Abdulkerim Bardakci missed training with muscle injuries but are expected to be fit enough for selection.
Man Utd could welcome Rasmus Højlund back from a muscle injury which forced him to sit out their domestic win at Everton.
Antony (knock) could also feature but Marcus Rashford is suspended after he was sent off during their defeat away to Copenhagen earlier this month.
Jonny Evans (thigh), Lisandro Martinez (foot), Casmiro (hamstring), Mason Mount (calf), Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen (both knee), Jadon Sancho (personal) and Amad Diallo (knee) remain sidelined.
When is Kick-Off?
Galatasaray face Man Utd at Rams Park in a 8:45pm TRT (5:45pm UK Time) kick-off on Wednesday 29 November, live on TNT Sports 1 in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Galatasaray are unbeaten in five of seven previous meetings against Manchester United (W2, D3, L2).
- Man Utd are winless in three previous away visits to Galatasaray (D2, L1).
- Galatasaray are yet to concede at home to Man Utd.
- Two of Galatasaray’s three goals at home were scored after the 85th minute.
- Man Utd have lost both away games in this group by 4-3 results, with Rasmus Højlund having scored three goals across both fixtures.
Prediction
Currently sat second in the group despite keeping no clean sheets, Galatasaray certainly don;t know when they’re beaten and come into this game buoyed by a clean sheet at home to Alanyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig.
Ex Utd winger, Wilfried Zaha also seems to have found form lately with four goals in three of Galatasaray’s last five home games, so he will be a player which Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils must be wary of alongside Mauro Icardi.
Man Utd though will arrive in Turkey off the back of a dominant win at Everton where they were clinical unlike the Toffees, yet this is now a must-win at a team who they’ve not beaten on the road before and Rashford will be a miss up front especially if Højlund isn’t available.
Ten Hag’s Utd also have Bayern Munich to come at home in their final group match so victory here is absolutely imperative, which might suit Galatasaray because Man Utd will be desperate for the win but the Turkish team have enough quality to snatch something here.
Prediction: Galatasaray 1-1 Manchester United
Result: Galatasaray 3-3 Manchester United
