2023-24 Premier League: Week 13 – Fulham vs Wolves

Fulham meet Wolves at Craven Cottage in a mid-table Premier League encounter.

Victory would see Fulham climb to 13th in the table realistically although they can overtake Wolves for 12th, if they can win this game by four or more goals.

Wolves meanwhile can go tenth with a win.

When is Kick-Off?

Fulham host Wolves at Craven Cottage in a 8pm GMT kick-off on Monday 27 November, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Fulham are winless in their last six meetings against Wolves (D3, L3).
  • Wolves have lost just one of their last five visits to Fulham (W2, D2, L1).
  • Another draw would see Fulham and Wolves play out three consecutive draws for the first time this century – having last done so between December 1950 – April 1952.
  • Fulham are looking to avoid suffering three consecutive league defeats for the first time since April – May 2023.
  • Four of Wolves’ last five league goals have been scored after half time.

Prediction

Currently lacking goals and totally outclassed at Villa before the international break with a defence which couldn’t live with the Villains’ high energy,  Fulham need to just reset and try and show more end product than they mustered in that game.

Wolves meanwhile were initially sluggish against Tottenham but defensively stayed in the game which proved crucial, because they certainly found late sparks to deliver a smash-and-grab win that will give them belief coming into this game.

Now if Wolves can bring similar quality but start and maintain their intensity better across 90 minutes, I can see them troubling Fulham’s defence but the Cottagers were unlucky to lose their last home game against Manchester United, so I do expect them to be tough to beat here.

Palhinha though is a huge loss in midfield given his involvement in their attacking play and a part of me does feel like his absence might be the difference, especially if Wolves can continue to show more of their attacking spark.

Prediction: Fulham 0-1 Wolves

Result: Fulham 3-2 Wolves
