2023-24 Premier League: Week 13 – Burnley vs West Ham

Relegation battling Burnley face top-ten chasing West Ham at Turf Moor in a Premier League clash.

Victory could see Burnley climb out of the relegation zone if Sheffield United and Luton both lose elsewhere.

West Ham can go eighth with a win if Brighton loses at Nottingham Forest.

Ameen Al-Dakhil is a doubt for Burnley with a knock.

Arijanet Muric (illness) is a doubt but Jack Cork (unspecified) and Lyle Foster (illness) remain absent.

West Ham could be without Jarrod Bowen after he picked up a knee injury whilst on international duty for England.

Michail Antonio is ruled out until late Dcember with a knee injury.

When is Kick-Off?

Prediction

Although achieving a result at Arsenal was always a tall order, Burnley didn’t play too badly but were outclassed – especially when they conceded just minutes after equalising which clearly showed how defensively vulnerable these Clarets are at the back.

West Ham meanwhile can be proud of how they fought back to beat Forest in an enjoyable encounter where they played well when on the attack, yet conceded twice through pieces of poor marking which is typical of their defence this season with just one clean sheet in the league.

Now if the Hammers can build upon their positive attacking performance and cut out those defensive errors especially against one of the league’s worst defences, I fancy them to get the win because Burnley do seem there for the taking once put under pressure at the back.

Prediction: Burnley 0-2 West Ham

Result: Burnley 1-2 West Ham
