Non League’s Horsham welcome Barnsley to The Camping World Community Stadium in a First Round replay in 2023-24 FA Cup.
Victory would see Horsham or Barnsley reach the Second Round where a trip to Sutton United awaits.
Elliott Romain is cup-tied for Horsham after he featured in Dulwich Hamlet’s First Qualifying Round exit away to Haringey Borough.
Barnsley could be without midfielder, Josh Benson after he suffered an unspecified injury during their 3-0 loss at Barnsley.
Jon Russell, Callum Styles and Devante Cole are all away on international duty and won’t be available for selection.
When is Kick-Off?
Horsham host Barnsley at The Camping World Community Stadium in a 7:30pm GMT kick-off, live on ITV4 in the UK.
- Horsham drew 3-3 in their only previous FA Cup meeting against Barnsley, which came away at Oakwell in the original fixture of this tie.
- Barnsley are playing away to Horsham for the very first time in a competitive fixture.
- Horsham have kept just two clean sheets in seven matches in this season’s FA Cup, during which they won each of their two replays without keeping a clean sheet.
- Barnsley have lost five of their eight previous FA Cup replays this century (W3, L5).
Having produced a fearless performance to fight back twice at Oakwell and even briefly lead late in the first half, Horsham will certainly need to show more of that quality here in front of a sell-out home crowd but cut out their defensive sloppiness as seen in the original tie.
Barnsley meanwhile are missing some strong players in Cole, Russell and Styles but they do still have plenty of quality to fill the gap, but they will surely need to play better than they did at Derby where they only managed one shot on target.
Replays though haven’t exactly been the Tykes’ finest point this century and away from home without some top players, I feel like this could be a banana skin if Horsham play with the same confidence that they did at Oakwell.
Prediction: Horsham 2-1 Barnsley
Result: Horsham 0-3 Barnsley
