2023-24 Premier League: Week 11 – Fulham vs Manchester United

Fulham face a struggling Manchester United at Craven Cottage in a mid-table Premier League match.

Victory could see Fulham leapfrog Man Utd into eighth if can win by at least two goals, whilst Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils can go sixth with a win ahead of the mid-afternoon kick-offs.

Fulham manager, Marco Silva has no fresh injury concerns to report after their 3-1 away win at Ipswich in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.

Adama Traore (hamstring) and Kenny Tete (knock) are doubts but Issa Diop (foot) and Tosin Adarabioyo (groin) are still sidelined.

Man Utd will be without midfielder, Casemiro after he was substituted with an unspecified injury during United’s Carabao Cup loss to Newcastle in midweek.

Raphael Varane (illness) is a doubt but Lisandro Martinez (foot), Luke Shaw (muscle), Jadon Sancho (personal), Tyrell Malacia and Amad Diallo (both knee) remain sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Fulham host Man Utd at Craven Cottage in a 12:30pm GMT kick-off on Saturday 4 November, live on TNT Sport 1 in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Fulham are winless in their last 15 league meetings against Man Utd (D3, L12).
  • Man Utd have dropped just two points in their last seven visits to Fulham (W6, D1).
  • Fulham took the lead in two of their three meetings against Man Utd last season in all competitions (L3), albeit at Old Trafford on both occasions.
  • Joao Palhinha has been booked in two of his four league at home for Fulham this season.
  • Three of Man Utd’s last four league goals were scored by Scott McTominay.

Prediction

After luckily snatching a clinical draw at Brighton amidst some sloppy first-half defending, Fulham certainly found fresh gears in their Carabao Cup win at Ipswich with a much tidier performance which they controlled with relative ease to take a confidence-boosting result.

After a pair of atrocious 3-0 home defeats in the past week with barely much if any quality offered up in attack never mind defence, Man Utd certainly need to somehow find their goalscoring boots and show fight and desire if want to get out of their rut.

I though do feel that Fulham could have the edge if can build upon their win at Ipswich and again apply that quality across 90 minutes, which is something that Utd have barely done lately aside from patches here and there within their recent games with a disjointed defensive effort.

Man Utd though have been a bogey team for Fulham in recent years so a draw might well be a fair guess.

Prediction: Fulham 1-1 Manchester United

Result: Fulham 0-1 Manchester United
