Andrew Robertson is a doubt for Liverpool after he suffered a shoulder injury during Scotland’s loss to Spain.

Cody Gakpo (knee), Stefan Bajcetic (calf) and Diogo Jota (suspension) could be in contention for selection.

Caoimhin Kelleher (knee), Thiago Alcantara (hip) and Curtis Jones (suspension) remain absent.

Everton have no fresh injury concerns to report as Seamus Coleman (knee), Andros Gomes (calf) and Dele Alli (hip) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Liverpool host Everton at Anfield on Saturday 21 October in a 12:30pm BST kick-off, live on TNT Sport 1 in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Liverpool have won three of their last four Merseyside Derby encounters against Everton (W3, D1, L1).
  • Everton have won just one of their last five Merseyside derby trips to Anfield. (W1, L4).
  • Jurgen Klopp’s Reds have kept clean sheets in their last three Merseyside derbies against Everton (W2, D1).
  • Mohameed Salah has scored in all three of Liverpool’s league games at home this season (W3), with the Reds winning two of those games by a 3-1 result.
  • Everton have taken four points from their three away games this season (W1, D1, L1), with Abdoulaye Doucoure netting in their last two trips on the road.

Slow starts seem to have become a regular part of Klopp’s Liverpool this season because they were certainly battered by a relentless Brighton at times, yet their attacking magic shone when their backs were against the wall but a 2-2 draw seemed a fair outcome given their defensive vulnerability.

Everton meanwhile have lacked consistency this season and although they clinically saw off Bournemouth with a strong performance, they are absolutely against the wall against a superior Liverpool where end product and robust defending will be their best hope of a result.

In fact, Everton probably need to score first because if not then I can see just one result brewing.

Prediction: Liverpool 2-0 Everton

Result: Liverpool 2-0 Everton
