F2 and F3 Announce 2024 Race Calendars

F2 and F3 have jointly announced their race calendars for 2024 season. 

F2 will hold 14 rounds next season across 13 countries in support of F1, beginning with the traditional season-opener in Bahrain across 29 February – 2 March, followed by a trip to Saudi Arabia a week later then Australia on weekend of 22-24 March.

The second-tier category will then regroup in Imola across 17-19 May in a double-header with Monaco, which will take place across four days from Thursday 23 to Sunday 26 May.

Spain, Austria and Great Britain will form a triple-header between 21 June to 7 July before heading to Hungary and Belgium on weekends of 19-21 and 26-28 July, prior to the summer break.

Unlike this season, F2 won’t return to Zandvoort in support of the Dutch GP and will instead regroup at Monza, Italy from 30 August to 1 September, followed by a trip to Azerbaijan a fortnight later from 13-15 September.

The F2 season will climax with a Middle-East double-header across 29 November – 1 December and 6-8 December, as the series visit Qatar for the first time before reaching its traditional climax in Abu Dhabi.

F1 President and CEO, Stefano Domenicali described the new F2 calendar for 2024 as “fantastic” and “exciting”, whilst demonstrating “strength and interest” of circuits in hosting F2 rounds in future.

F2 CEO, Bruno Michel meanwhile has moved to address the increase of flyaway races to five events and impact upon team budgets, as he explained: “Even though there will be more fly-away events in 2024, we continue to ensure the teams’ budget remains at a proper level.”

F3 meanwhile will consist of 10 rounds with the same venues selected as was the case this season, with the round at Imola, Italy expected to go ahead in 2024 after it was cancelled at short notice in 2023 due to floods in the Emilia Romagna region of Italy.

Upon announcement of the 2024 F3 calendar, Domenicali spoke of the on-track “intensity” at this year’s venues which have all been retained for next season showcasing “the talent in the system and the pipeline we have for the future.”
