BBC and ITV have announced their broadcats picks for the Round of 16 at 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
BBC held first pick which was used to select England’s clash against Group B runners-up, Nigeria, which kicks off at 8:30am BST UK Time on Monday 7 August live on BBC One with coverage commencing at 8am.
Later that day, BBC will televise the tie between tournament co-hosts, Australia as the Aussies take on Denmark at Stadium Australia, Sydney, with kick-off set for 11:30am BST.
BBC will also broadcast three further ties on BBC One, including Switzerland’s all-European encounter against Spain on 5 August at 6am whilst Netherlands and France will look to avoid shock cupsets against South Africa and Morocco on 6 and 8 August in 3am and 12pm kick-offs respectively.
ITV1 meanwhile had second pick and have opted to broadcast Sweden’s clash against reigning champions, USA at 10am BST on Sunday 6 August, with the match taking place at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium, Melbourne, Australia.
Two former champions will collide live on ITV1 as 2011 winners, Japan meet 1995 winners, Norway at Wellington Regional Stadium at 9am BST on Saturday 5 August.
Should England defeat Nigeria to secure a Quarter-Final spot, they will face the winner of Colombia’s tie against Jamaica which will be live on ITV1 at 9am on Tuesday 8 August after both teams sprung shocks to ultimately eliminate Germany and Brazil respectively in the Group Stage.
ITV will have first pick of the Quarter-Finals, whilst BBC will broadcast both semi-finals across 15-16 August before both UK broadcasters air the Final live.
