Fulham have signed forward, Raul Jimenez from Wolves in a £5.5m transfer.
Jimenez’s move comes amidst speculation over Aleksandar Mitrovic’s future at Fulham with the Serbian eager to leave for Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal, although manager – Marco Silva snubbed a £40m offer from Al-Ahli to become their new manager.
This move also brings Jimenez’s five-season spell at Wolves to a close during which he scored 57 goals in 166 appearances, although he managed only nine goals in 56 appearances across the last two seasons upon his return from a serious head injury which ended his 2020-21 season early.
Jimenez has signed a two-year contract with option for a further 12 months at the club.
“It’s really important for me to arrive here,” commented Jiménez to FFCtv. “I will try to do my best for the team, one of the most iconic teams in the Premier League.
“I’m happy to be here and to play in this stadium, it’s a really good stadium, I like it here. I’m going to give my best to keep scoring goals in the Premier League.”
Fulham’s Vice-Chairman and Director of Football Operations, Tony Khan added: “I’m excited to welcome Raúl Jiménez to Fulham! Raúl will be familiar to Fulham supporters as he’s had great experience playing in the Premier League, and in international football with Mexico.
“It’s important for us to follow up on last season’s success, and we believe that the addition of Raúl can help us strengthen the squad as we aim for another successful season in the Premier League!”
Jimenez could make his competitive debut for Fulham away to Everton on 11 August in a 3pm BST kick-off, before his home bow could come a week later against the Cottagers’ local rivals, Brentford on 19 August.
