Brentford have promoted midfielders, Yehor Yarmoliuk and Ryan Trevitt from their B team to the first-team squad.
Yarmoliuk joined Brentford from SC Dnipro-1 in July 2022 and was placed within their B team, where he has impressed with three goals and two assists in 16 appearances.
Yarmoliuk also was handed a senior debut as a substitute in November 2022 during the Bees’ shock Carabao Cup exit at home to Gillingham on penalties following a 1-1 draw, having twice featured in two Premier League matches as an unused substitute.
Addressing the decision to promote Yarmoliuk, Brentford’s B team Head Coach – Neil MacFarlane described the 19 year-old as a “good signing”, who has been “fantastic” in his performances.
Yarmoliuk is currently recovering from injury but MacFarlane was pleased with his progress, as he commented: “He went through a real purple patch in terms of his form, sadly before he got injured, where he was playing to such a high level, and we wish him well for the new season with the first team.”
Brentford also confirmed that Yarmoliuk isn’t the only midfielder to be promoted, with Trevitt also joining the senior team next season, after featuring in the Bees’ Second Round win over Colchester in this season’s Carabao Cup plus their FA Cup exit at home to West Ham in the Third Round.
Trevitt also scored 16 goals and provided 11 assists in 28 appearances for the B team, having made huge progress since he joined in January 2021 following a trial period with the team in late 2020.
Reflecting upon Trevitt’s development throughout his time within the B team, MacFarlane said: “Ryan has been outstanding since he came in and he’s really worked at his game.
“He’s a terrific lad who wants to keep improving and his levels have been really high this year in terms of what he’s produced in assists and goals.”
MacFarlane also acknowledged that Trevitt came to the club from Leatherhead, where he graduated through the non-league team’s youth academy, before having trials with Fulham and QPR prior to becoming “a real success story” with the Bees.
