Uncapped midfielder, Jack Taylor has earned a first international call-up since November 2020 for Republic of Ireland’s Euro 2024 qualifiers against Greece and Gibraltar.

Taylor’s call-up comes after the 24 year-old midfielder enjoyed a strong season with Peterborough, having scored 10 goals in 51 appearances as the Posh reached the League One Play-Offs, where they lost a dramatic semi-final tie against Sheffield Wednesday on penalties.

Josh Cullen, Jayson Molumby, Jeff Hendrick, Alan Browne, Will Smallbone, Jason Knight and Jamie McGrath have kept their spots in midfield.

Uncapped defender, Liam Scales is back in the squad after a solid campaign for Aberdeen as Seamus Coleman misses out with a knee injury.

Chiedozie Ogbene and Robbie Brady are also sidelined through respective hamstring and calf injuries in forward and midfield selections.

Manager, Stephen Kenny has retained Matt Doherty, Dara O’Shea, Callum O’Dowda, James McLean, John Egan and Nathan Collins, whilst Darragh Lenihan has earned an recall as Mark Sykes is moved from midfield to defence.

Up front, Evan Ferguson will again lead the Irish forward line with Adam Idah, Michael Obafemi, Troy Parrott and Mikey Johnston keeping their spots in the squad, as Wigan’s Will Keane is snubbed by Kenny.

Gavin Bazunu, Caoimhin Kelleher and Mark Travers have kept their spots in Ireland’s goalkeeping selection, having been part of the team which narrowly lost their opening qualifier at home to France in March.

Ireland will head to Athens to face Greece in their next 2024 UEFA Euro qualifier on Friday 16 June (7:45pm UK Time), before hosting Gibraltar in Dublin on Monday 19 June at 7:45pm BST.
