Sky Sports and F1 have announced a junior broadcast co-production of 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix.

As part of the broadcast, F1 will create a junior International Feed with graphics, audio and special features aimed at the child audience across UK and Germany.

Sky have confirmed that Braydon and Scarlett who present Sky Kids show – FYI will host the British version, with go-karter Zac joining the pair plus 2016 F1 World Champion, Nico Rosberg plus ex Indycar racer, Danica Patrick for the special edition.

As part of the coverage, the young recruits will interview various drivers and F1 figures across the paddock, whilst co-hosting with Natalie Pinkham and providing race commentary.

Across in Germany, Sky Deutschland have decided to hold an open casting call for young talent between the ages of 10 – 14 to join their Sky Next Generation programme, which will take the junior International Feed.

Director of F1 Media Rights and Content Creation, Ian Holmes described this new broadcasting project as “really exciting.”

Holmes proceeded to add that this is the first time that any motorsport series is doing broadcast coverage aimed at a children’s audience, as he added: “This is a first of its kind in motorsport and I am excited to see the broadcast come to life and to watch the next generation of presenting talent!”

Sky Sports F1 UK pundit and 2009 F1 Champion, Jenson Button can’t wait to see how the kids fare, as he said: “We are really excited about giving the next generation of F1 fans a platform to show their passion and excitement for the sport as F1 continues to grow in popularity amongst younger audiences.”

Sport Sky Deutschland’s Executive Vice President, Charly Classen meanwhile pointed to Sky’s “pioneering work” on their football coverage as evidence of their ability to hand children a chance in broadcasting.

This year’s Hungarian Grand Prix will take place from 21-23 July.
