2022-23 Premier League: Week 34 – Fulham vs Manchester City

Fulham continue their fading push for European qualification in a tricky clash against Manchester City at Craven Cottage.

Victory would see Fulham stay tenth but move to within two points of ninth-placed Brentford, whilst Man City can go top with a win with Arsenal not in action until Tuesday evening.

Harry Wilson is a minor doubt for Fulham after he was substituted in their midweek defeat at Aston Villa due to illness.

Willian (hamstring) is a doubt but Layvin Kurzawa (knee) and Aleksandar Mitrovic (suspension) remain absent.

Man City have no fresh injury concerns to report after their midweek win against Arsenal, as Nathan Ake remains absent with a hamstring injury.

When is Kick-Off?

Fulham face Man City at 2pm on Sunday 30 April at Craven Cottage, broadcast live on Sky Sports in UK.

Prediction

With consolidating a top-ten finish now their likely only task, Fulham can afford to relax a bit but I would like to see them produce more creativity, especially after a lacklustre attacking effort in their defeat at Villa where only excellent defending prevented a heavier defeat.

Man City meanwhile dominated Arsenal in a masterclass performance aside from their discipline which was quite hot-tempered at times, with Ruben Dias and Jack Grealish lucky not to be red carded in separate incidents but I do expect a similar display here with more calmness.

In fact, I can’t see past a comfortable Man City win unless Fulham’s defence puts in another strong display which seems unlikely, particularly given the gulf in quality which will tell in the result.

Prediction: Fulham 0-3 Manchester City

Result: Fulham 1-2 Manchester City
