2022-23 Premier League: Week 34 – Brighton vs Wolves

Top-four chasing Brighton & Hove Albion host Wolves at the AMEX Stadium.

Victory would see Brighton stay eighth in the table, whilst Wolves can go 11th with a win if Crystal Palace lose at lunchtime.

Evan Ferguson could return for Brighton after he missed their last two matches with an ankle injury.

Tariq Lamptey, Jakub Moder (both knee), Jeremy Sarmiento (foot) and Adam Lallana (hamstring) remain absent.

Wolves could welcome Boubacar Traore (groin) back into contention if he is declared fit by club doctors.

Chiquinho and Sasa Kalajdzic (both knee) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Brighton host Wolves in a 3pm BST kick-off at the AMEX Stadium on Saturday 29 April, untelevised in UK.

Prediction

Given the unexpected nature of their defeat at Forest which has put a major dent in their top-four dreams, Brighton now must reset and I do hope that Roberto De Zerbi rotates his squad especially after a tough week.

Ferguson’s return from injury though should hopefully boost their attacking quality because they can’t afford anything other than a win here, if they’re to put pressure on those sat above them in the race for European qualification.

Wolves meanwhile are all but mathematically safe after a positive home win against Crystal Palace amidst poor end product in open play, as they ultimately benefitted from errors to seal the three points so I do expect an improvement in their open-play quality.

The AMEX Stadium though hasn’t exactly been kind to Wolves in recent visits so I am going for a narrow home win, particularly if Ferguson starts for Brighton who should hopefully be more fresher if there is squad rotation.

Prediction: Brighton 2-1 Wolves

Result: Brighton 6-0 Wolves
