2022-23 Premier League: Week 33 – Wolves vs Crystal Palace

Wolves meet Crystal Palace at Molineux in a crucial clash in the race for Premier League survival.

Victory would see Palace climb to 11th with Chelsea not in action until Wednesday evening, whilst Wolves can reclaim 13th with at least one point.

Mario Lemina is doubtful for Wolves after he was substituted in their defeat against Leicester with a hamstring injury.

Boubacar Traore (groin) could retun but Chiquinho and Sasa Kalajdzic (both knee) remain absent.

Palace have no fresh injury concerns to report following their draw against Everton last weekend.

Nathaniel Clyne (knee), Nathan Ferguson (muscle) and Wilfried Zaha (groin) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Wolves host Palace at Molineux on Tuesday 25 April in a 7:30pm BST kick-off, live on BT Sport 3 in UK.

Stat Attack

  • Wolves have won just one of their last five league meetings against Crystal Palace (W1, L4).
  • Crystal Palace have won three of their last five league visits to Wolves (W3, L2).
  • Each of the last four league meetings between Wolves and Palace at Molineux have ended in 2-0 results, with both teams claiming two wins apiece.
  • Wolves have kept clean sheets in three of their last four home games (W3, L1), only failing to do so in a 4-2 loss to Leeds in March 2023.
  • Eberechi Eze has scored three goals in Palace’s last two away matches (W2).

Prediction

Despite missing out on the chance to claim a third consecutive win, Wolves still are in a relatively safe position but they must be more clinical than they were at Leicester – where a mixture of small defensive errors and end product cost them at least a draw.

Palace meanwhile will be happy with their dominance against Everton in which they did everything right on the attack, except for their finishing touch accuracy against a tough goalkeeper in Jordan Pickford so I am expecting another strong performance.

Molineux however has been an improved fortress for Wolves in recent weeks yet is a ground where Palace have gone well, which should make for a good entertaining contest and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a draw here.

Prediction: Wolves 1-1 Crystal Palace

Result: Wolves 2-0 Crystal Palace
