2022-23 Premier League: Week 27 – Wolves vs Leeds

Wolves host Leeds United at Molineux as both teams scrap for Premier League survival.

Victory would see Wolves climb to 12th in the table, whilst Leeds can move out of the relegation zone with a win.

Pablo Sarabia is a doubt for Wolves after a heel injury forced him to sit out their 2-1 loss at Newcastle.

Boubacar Traore (groin) is doubtful but Hwang Hee-Chan (muscle) is ruled out.

Hugo Bueno (muscle), Diego Costa, Chiquinho and Sasa Kalajdzic (all knee) remain absent.

Leeds will be without midfielder, Tyler Adams after he suffered a hamstring injury in training.

Liam Cooper (muscle) is a doubt but Adam Forshaw (hip) and Stuart Dallas (thigh) remain ruled out.

When is Kick-Off?

Wolves host Leeds at Molineux in a 3pm GMT kick-off on Saturday 18 March, albeit untelevised live in UK.

Prediction

Despite sitting mid-table, Wolves aren’t totally safe yet because they’re just three points above the relegation zone so do still have work to do if want to secure safety, especially after poor defensive errors cost them at least a draw at Newcastle where they were wasteful in otherwise confident attacks.

Leeds meanwhile are four points behind their hosts and sat second-bottom but you can’t deny their team spirit which proved crucial in a draw against Brighton, in which they twice recovered from a goal down to earn a crucial point amidst sloppy defending.

Improvement at both ends of the pitch is therefore necessary here because if both teams can tighten up defensively, I can see a tight game coming but Leeds do look more hungry in terms of end product which could well be the difference otherwise expect a 1-1 draw.

Prediction: Wolves 1-2 Leeds

Result: Wolves 2-4 Leeds
