Stoke City welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to BET365 Stadium in the Fifth Round of 2022-23 FA Cup.
Victory would see Stoke reach the Quarter-Finals for the first time since 2011-12 season, whilst Brighton are looking to reach the last eight for the third time in six seasons.
Team News

Tyrese Campbell could return for Stoke after he missed Saturday’s Championship defeat to Millwall due to illness.
Ki-Jana Hoever could also feature after he was dropped from the teamsheet as part of manager – Alex Neil’s decision to rotate his bench to make room for Sam Clucas and Josh Tymon, who both made substitute appearances.
Axel Tuanzebe (leg) is a doubt but Emre Tezgel (thigh) and Nick Powell (knee) remain absent.
Brighton will be without Pervis Estupinan available after the fullback failed to recover from a hamstring injury, which he suffered during their defeat to Fulham a week-and-a-half ago.
Solly March is also sidelined due to an unspecified issue.
Levi Colwill (muscle), Billy Gilmour (knock) and Danny Welbeck (calf) are expected to be in contention but Adam Lallana (hamstring) and Jakob Moder (knee) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Stoke face Brighton at BET365 Stadium in a 7:15pm GMT kick-off on Tuesday 28 February, live on ITV4 in UK.
Stat Attack
- Stoke won their only previous FA Cup meeting against Brighton by 3-0 result at this stage in February 2011, en-route to finishing runners-up in that season’s final.
- Brighton are looking for their first FA Cup win away at Stoke (L1).
- This clash is only Stoke’s second-ever tie against Brighton in all cup competitions.
- Jacob Brown has scored in each of Stoke’s two FA Cup matches this season, as the Potters defeated Hartlepool and Stevenage in Third and Fourth Rounds respectively.
- Brighton have kept two clean sheets in five matches in all cup competitions this season.
Prediction
Having beaten League Two opposition in the Third and Fourth Rounds respectively, Stoke now face a tough test but they will need to be more creative after they failed to break down a stubborn Millwall defence at the weekend.
Brighton meanwhile will be refreshed following a week-and-a-half off but their fierce end product deserted last time out in defeat to Fulham, so I imagine that they will be absolutely eager to produce an immediate response but they must tidy up their final touch.
Now if the Seagulls can indeed sort out their final touch and bring their usual entertaining quality which has proven quite daunting for oppositional teams recently, I do fear for Stoke who will need to realistically pick up how they finished against Millwall on the front foot and score first.
I though just can’t see Stoke getting a win here unless they are absolutely perfect across the pitch but they should give Brighton a decent fight.
Prediction: Stoke 1-2 Brighton
Result: Stoke 0-1 Brighton
