Manchester United will face Nottingham Forest and Southampton meet Newcastle in semi-finals of 2022-23 Carabao Cup.
Man Utd reached the semi-finals for the second time in three seasons after thrashing Charlton Athletic 3-0 at Old Trafford, courtesy of Antony’s first-half goal and Marcus Rashford’s brace.
Erik Ten Hag’s Red Devils will now face Nottingham Forest in the last four after the East Midlands club defeated Wolves on penalties, which secured Forest a first semi-final appearance in this competition for 31 years.
The semi-finals are spread across two legs with Forest hosting the first leg at the City Ground, whilst Man Utd have home advantage in the second leg at Old Trafford.
Southampton meanwhile stunned Manchester City through first-half goals from Sekou Mara and Moussa Djenepo, which saw Nathan Jones’ Saints secure a first semi-final appearance in this competition since they finished runners-up to Man United in 2016-17 season.
The Saints though face tricky opposition in the form of Newcastle United who beat Leicester 2-0 to reach the last four of this competition for the first time in 47 years, since they finished runners-up in 1975-76 season.
Nathan Jones’ Saints will host the first leg at home at St Mary’s Stadium, with Newcastle playing at home at St James’ Park in the second leg as the Magpies look to their 54-year run without a major trophy in any competition.
First legs of the semi-finals are scheduled to be played across 24-25 January, with the second legs following a week later in the midweek of 31 January – 1 February, with all four legs in total to be screened live on Sky Sports.
The two semi-final winners will then meet in the Final at Wembley Stadium, London, on Sunday 26 February 2023, live on Sky Sports with kick-off time yet to be confirmed but is anticipated to be 4pm GMT at earliest due to Premier League action at 1:30pm GMT that same afternoon.
