With majority of Third Round ties now finished with some heading for replays, there is plenty to look forward to in the Fourth Round draw, as we guide you through everything that you need to know from timings to ball numbers and more.
When is the Fourth Round Draw?
The Fourth Round draw will take place live on BBC One on Sunday 8 January 2023 at 4:05pm GMT, during build-up to the broadcaster’s coverage of Manchester City’s tie against Chelsea at Etihad Stadium.
Mark Chapman will host the draw with Emile Heskey and Karen Bardsley conducting the ball drawing duties.
How Many Teams Are In The Draw?
Despite 32 ties taking place in the Fourth Round, around 40 teams will be involved in the draw due to a mixture of ties needing replays or not having been played prior to the draw for scheduling or weather related reasons.

Teams to Watch Out For
Non League’s Wrexham have been handed ball number 12 after shocking second-tier Coventry City 4-3 in the Third Round, which meant the Welsh club reached the Fourth Round for the first time since 1999-2000 season.
Sheffield Wednesday – who play in League One – have been seeded as ball number 29, after the Owls stunned Premier League’s Newcastle in the Third Round with Josh Windass’ brace.
League Two’s Grimsby Town are ball number 19 after the Mariners stunned Burton Albion to reach the Fourth Round for the first time since 1999-2000 season.
Blackpool will be ball number 20 after Michael Appleton’s Tangerines thrashed last season’s Quarter-Finalists, Nottingham Forest 4-1 at Bloomfield Road.
League One’s Fleetwood Town will be ball numer 17 after coming from behind to stun QPR in a 2-1 home win at Highbury.
Defending champions, Liverpool will share ball number 18 with Wolves after the Premier League rivals contested a 2-2 draw at Anfield, which has set up a replay at Molineux.
When Will Fourth Round Ties Be Played?
Fourth Round ties will be played across the weekend of 27 – 30 January, with winning teams receiving £120,000 in prize money plus a place in the Fifth Round.
Should replays be required, ties will be replayed across the midweek of 7-8 February.
