
Guide to the Third Round draw in 2022-23 FA Cup as 44 teams enter this competition.
This round will see clubs across the top two tiers of English football enter the competition, whilst several lower-league clubs will be dreaming of a glamour home tie against footballing giants like Arsenal and Liverpool.
Now, here is everything that you need to know ahead of the Third Round draw in 2022-23 FA Cup.
When is the Third Round Draw?
The Third Round draw will take place on Monday 28 November at Anfield with live coverage commencing at 7pm GMT on BBC Two, although the actual draw isn’t expected to begin until approximately 7:10pm GMT.
How Many Teams Are In The Draw?
There will be 32 ties across the Third Round in total but because two Second Round ties have gone to replays, there will be 66 teams involved in the draw.
Teams from Premier League and Sky Bet Championship will enter the competition at this stage and have been given ball numbers 1-44 in alphabetical order, with Second Round winners filling ball numbers 45-64 respectively.

Teams to Watch Out For
Defending champions, Liverpool have been seeded as ball number 21 as Jurgen Klopp’s Reds prepare to commence their title defence, whilst last season’s runners-up – Chelsea have been handed ball number 12.
Current Premier League leaders and 14-time FA Cup holders, Arsenal will be ball number 2 in the draw, whilst reigning top-flight champions – Manchester City have been handed ball number 23 whilst their local rivals, Manchester United are ball number 24.
Out of victorious Second Round clubs, Boreham Wood are looking for another deep run in the FA Cup after stunning Bristol Rovers and have been placed as ball number 57.
National League’s Wrexham and Chesterfield have been handed ball numbers 46 and 61 respectively, after having defeated Farnborough and AFC Wimbledon respectively.
When Will Third Round Ties Be Played?
Third Round ties will be played across the weekend of 6-9 January 2023, with winning teams awarded £105,000 plus a place in the Fourth Round.
Should replays be required, ties will be replayed across midweek of 17-18 January 2023.
