2022-23 Premier League: Week Ten – Tottenham vs Everton

Tottenham Hotspur welcome Everton to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in Saturday Night Football.

Victory would see Antonio Conte’s Spurs stay third in the table, whereas Everton can climb as high as eighth depending upon results elsewhere.

Richarlison is a doubt for Tottenham after suffering a knee injury in their midweek Champions League win against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Dejan Kulusevski (muscle), Emerson Royal (suspension) and Lucas Moura (tendon) will definitely remain absent.

Everton will be without Anthony Gordon as he serves an one match ban after picking up his fifth booking of the season, during their 2-1 defeat at home to Manchester United last weekend.

Abdoulaye Doucoure (personal) could feature but Nathan Patterson (ankle), Ben Godfrey (fibula), Yerry Mina (ankle), Mason Holgate and Andros Townsend (both knee) remain absent.

Prediction

Having edged past Eintracht Frankfurt in midweek following a mixed performance where they were impressively dominant in attack at times, Tottenham still couldn’t avoid sloppy mistakes which almost caused them the win so a more polished display has to be the aim here.

Everton meanwhile delivered a solidly aggressive attacking effort to lead against Man Utd but sloppy dawdling in movement and passes in midfield proved their downfall, amidst wasted chances throughout but Gordon’s absence will certainly be felt given his ability on the flank.

The first goal therefore has to be crucial to Everton’s chances because if they concede the opening goal, I can’t see them getting anything from this game but if they do lead then they will need a superb effort to deny Spurs a comeback win.

Prediction: Tottenham 2-1 Everton
