PREMA Racing have announced Paul Aron, Dino Beganovic and Zak O’Sullivan for 2022 F3 Post-Season Test.
Confirmation of their driver line-up for the post-season test at Jerez, Spain, from 21-23 September comes just days after PREMA regained the teams’ title from Trident in Monza.
Aron and Beganovic are already known to PREMA after competing as teammates in Formula European Regional Championship (FREC) in 2021 & 22 seasons, yet now face the tough task of making the step up to F3 for this test with view of securing a race seat in 2023.
Aron is also part of Mercedes’ Junior programme and has commented that he is “super happy and proud” to drive for PREMA in the test, as he acknowledged their F3 form, as he said: “They have proved themselves as a team year after year, and I am happy to be able to learn with the best.
“It will be important to gather as much info and knowledge as possible during the 3-day Jerez test.”
Beganovic meanwhile is part of Ferrari’s Young Driver Academy and currently leads FREC with two rounds of the season left, and has admitted to being “really happy” to be called up for this test as he “cannot wait to drive a Formula 3 car for the first time.”
On what he is expecting to gain in terms of experience as he eyes a move to F3 for next season, Beganovic said: “We will have a good amount of days to drive, get used to the team again and have a taste of what might be coming for the future.”
Williams Academy member – O’Sullivan meanwhile finished 11th for Carlin in F3 this season with two podiums and one pole position, which has seen him catch the eyes of PREMA, who has offered him a chance to step up to a frontrunning team for this post-season test.
Speaking about making the switch from Carlin to PREMA for this test, O’Sullivan commented: “I am excited to be doing the F3 postseason test in Jerez with PREMA. It will be a bit of a new environment for me.
“I am looking forward to getting started and hopefully, we can have a good three days.”
PREMA aren’t the only team to have already confirmed their driver line-up for the test, with Charouz and Jenzer having also done so:
- Charouz – Alessandro Famularo, Nicola Marinangeli, Matias Zagazeta and Emerson Fittipaldi Jr.
- Jenzer – Taylor Barnard, Nikita Bedrin and Alex Garcia
