2022-23 Premier League: Week Six – Tottenham vs Fulham

Tottenham welcome Fulham to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a cross-London derby.

Victory would see Spurs go second temporarily with Manchester City not in action until Saturday evening, whilst Fulham could go fourth with a win if Liverpool and Leeds lose elsewhere.

Rodrigo Bentacur is set to be in contention for Tottenham after he missed their midweek 1-1 draw at West Ham due to concussion protocols.

Bryan Gil (personal) could return but Lucas Moura (tendon) and Cristian Romero (muscle) remain ruled out.

Fulham could welcome Shane Duffy back into contention after he was ineligible to play in their midweek win over his parent club – Brighton.

New signings, Layvin Kurzawa, Dan James, Carlos Vinicius and Willian could also feature but Manor Solomon and Harry Wilson remain absent with knee injuries.

Prediction

Despite not playing dominant football at West Ham in midweek, Tottenham did well to snatch a point because they were lucky to get the first goal through Thilo Kehrer’s own goal, whilst Hugo Lloris was excellent in goal on top of solid defending except for Soucek’s equalising strike.

Fulham meanwhile seem much more solid than in their recent previous top-flight campaigns because their attacking intent and movement is way better than before, which really showed in a clinical midweek win against Brighton with solid defending to boot.

This clash though is Fulham’s second away London derby in seven days and with Tottenham’s recent defending at home not looking impressive, I actually fancy the Cottagers to somehow snatch a result despite their recent poor record in this fixture.

Prediction: Tottenham 1-1 Fulham

Result: Tottenham 2-1 Fulham
