Stockport County will host Leicester City in one of several blockbuster Second Round ties in 2022-23 Carabao Cup.
Stockport on their return to the EFL Cup after a 11 year absence beat Harrogate Town in their First Round tie, which has been awarded with a home tie against Premier League’s Leicester City at Edgeley Park.
Grimsby marked their return to the competition after an one season absence by thrashing Crewe Alexandra, with the Mariners now set to host Premier League opposition in Nottingham Forest at Blundell Park.
Aston Villa, Everton and Newcastle meanwhile have been handed away ties to lower league opposition against Bolton, Fleetwood Town and Tranmere Rovers respectively, in other stand-out Northern Section ties.
Burnley who received a First Round bye will visit Shrewsbury Town in their first appearance in this season’s competition.
In the Southern Section, Crawley Town will host Fulham in a tasty clash between the West Sussex and London clubs, who are separated by 37.8 miles on the M25.
Oxford United’s reward for coming from behind to beat Swansea in the opening round is a home tie against Premier League’s Crystal Palace.
Brentford, Southampton and Brighton meanwhile have been drawn away to Colchester United, Cambridge United and Forest Green Rovers respectively, in other stand-out ties in the Southern Section.
Ties will be played across 23-24 August with the 25 winners advancing to the Third Round, where they will be joined by the seven Premier League teams who received a bye due to their involvement in UEFA competitions.
