Mohamed Salah Signs New Three-Year Contract At Liverpool

Mohamed Salah has signed a new three-year contract to remain at Liverpool until June 2027.

Since arriving at Anfield in June 2017 following two seasons at Serie A’s AS Roma, Salah has been an integral part of Liverpool’s success in which he netted 156 goals in 254 appearances across all competitions.

Salah has also won the Premier League Golden Boot on three separate occasions – in 2017-18, 18-19 and 21-22 seasons, whilst he also won awards for playmaker and goal of the season upon conclusion of last season amongst many personal honours across his time at Liverpool.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com about finally committing his future to the club until June 2025, Salah said: “I feel great and [I am] excited to win trophies with the club. It’s a happy day for everyone.”

The Egyptian forward proceeded to address why he hadn’t signed a new contract sooner, as he explained: “It takes a little bit of time, I think, to renew, but now everything is done so we just need to focus on what’s next.

“I think you can see in the last five or six years the team was always going [upwards]. Last season we were close to winning four, but unfortunately in the last week of the season we lost two trophies.”

Last season saw Liverpool miss out on a historic quadruple in the final week of the campaign as they were marginally beaten to the league title by Manchester City, before losing to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League Final.

Salah though believes that despite only winning the Carabao Cup and FA Cup last season, Liverpool “are in a good position to fight for everything” following the arrivals of Fabio Carvalho, Darwin Nunez and Calvin Ramsay.

On what is needed to finally achieve a historic quadruple, Salah commented: “We just need to keep working hard, have a good vision, be positive and go for everything again.”

Salah has currently won six honours with Liverpool, having won Premier League, Carabao Cup, FA Cup, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup honours once each across his time on Merseyside.
