Crystal Palace welcome relegation battling Leeds United to Selhurst Park in Monday Night Football.
Victory will see Palace climb to 12th in the table, whilst Leeds will stay 16th with a win but move seven points clear of the relegation zone.
Team News
Luka Milivojevic is set to return for Crystal Palace after he missed their midweek defeat at Newcastle due to a hamstring injury.
Michael Olise (foot) is a doubt but Nathan Ferguson (hamstring) remains absent.
Leeds will be without Adam Forshaw after the midfielder suffered a knee injury in training.
Jamie Shackleton (calf) and Junior Firpo (knee) could return but Tyler Roberts (hamstring) and Patrick Bamford (foot) remain absent.
Stat Attack
- Crystal Palace have claimed 10 points from nine previous Premier League meetings against Leeds (W3, D1, L5)
- Leeds have won two of four previous Premier League trips to Selhurst Park (W2, L2), scoring twice in each of their two wins.
- Palace have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last four Premier League clashes against Leeds, scoring four goals and conceding six goals.
- Patrick Vieira’s Eagles have kept just four clean sheets at home in all competitions in 2022 so far (W4, D2, L3).
- Leeds have scored three goals in each of their last two away matches with Rodrigo and Jack Harrison both scoring in those wins, although their goals didn’t come until after half-time.
Prediction
Despite enjoying a strong return from the international break with a positive win over Arsenal earlier this month, Palace have since gone off the boil with a particularly lacklustre display in their narrow defeat at Newcastle so I hope to see a reaction here from a team capable of a top-ten finish.
Leeds meanwhile haven’t played in over two weeks through no fault of their own but come into this game off the back of a solid win at Watford, where they weathered immense attacking pressure throughout and struck clinically on the counter-attack with strong follow-up on and off the ball.
The early stages of this match though could be key because if Palace can turn up and get an early goal, they will be tough to beat, whereas if Leeds can weather Palace’s pressure and clinically break them down throughout the game then a win could be theirs to chase.
I though can see a draw coming here because Palace certainly won’t make life easy for Leeds so this could get scrappy.
Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-1 Leeds United
Result: Crystal Palace 0-0 Leeds United
