2021-22 Sky Bet Championship: Week 41 – Sunday

Fulham welcome Coventry City to Craven Cottage in a huge untelevised Super Sunday clash in the Sky Bet Championship.

Victory would see Fulham move 13 points clear of second-placed Bournemouth and onto the verge of securing promotion, whereas Coventry can climb as high as 10th with a win.

Fulham have no fresh injury concerns to report after Wednesday’s win at Middlesbrough as Neco Williams and Tom Cairney both look to return, having been rested in midweek.

Coventry have no fresh injury concerns to report after Wednesday’s loss at Nottingham Forest.

Jake Clarke-Salter (groin), Josh Eccles, Kyle McFadzean, Matty Godden (all calf), Jodi Jones (knee) and Liam Kelly (hamstring) are all ruled out.

Prediction

With promotion all but virtually assured, Fulham can afford to relax coming into the home stretch of the season, yet they were clinical against Middlesbrough despite getting outplayed so I expect them to come here looking for a more dominant display in front of home fans.

Coventry’s play-off ambitions meanwhile took a huge knock following their midweek loss at Forest where they simply weren’t clinical enough despite performing better in attack, whilst a nine-point deficit to the top six with six games left mean that this is a must-win.

I however just can’t see Coventry getting anything here because Fulham just seem too strong at present but if they perform like they did when they met in the Midlands, they could certainly spring a surprise although I don’t expect that to happen.

Prediction: Fulham 2-0 Coventry

Result: Fulham 1-3 Coventry
