2021-22 Premier League: Week 28 – Tottenham vs Everton

Tottenham Hotspur welcome Everton to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in Monday Night Football.

Victory would see Tottenham stay seventh but move closer towards the top six, whereas Everton can climb to 16th with a win and move further away from the relegation zone.

Lucas Moura is set to return for Tottenham after recovering from a dead leg which forced him to miss their last two matches.

Rodrigo Bentancur (ankle) could feature but Japhet Tanganga (knee) and Oliver Skipp (groin) remain ruled out.

Everton could welcome Demarai Gray back after he missed their FA Cup win over Boreham Wood through illness.

Vitaliy Mykolenko, Andre Gomes (both thigh) and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (adductor) could also be in contention for selection.

Tom Davies, Fabian Delph (both thigh), Ben Godfrey (hamstring) and Yerry Mina (quad) remain absent.

Prediction

Inconsistency seems to be a common theme at Spurs because after clinically destroying Leeds in their last league match, they were just thoroughly flat and passionless in their FA Cup exit at Middlesbrough which makes them an unpredictable team to call here.

Everton meanwhile comfortably defeated Boreham Wood in their FA Cup clash but they were largely slow moving with little intensity in attack, which was disappointing despite their overall dominance so I am hoping for a more fierce effort here with Calvert-Lewin and Gray back.

This match also marks Spurs’ first home match in nearly one month so it will be interesting to see how the hosts approach this because if they’re as toothless as they were at Boro, Everton surely have to take their chances if can up their intent and eventual attacking bite.

Prediction: Tottenham 1-1 Everton

Result: Tottenham 5-0 Everton
