Nottingham Forest host Huddersfield at the City Ground in the final Fifth Round tie of 2021-22 FA Cup.
The winner of this tie will be rewarded with a home clash against Liverpool in the Quarter-Finals.
Team News
Max Lowe is set to return for Nottingham Forest after he was ineligible to participate in Friday’s 1-1 draw at Sheffield United in the Sky Bet Championship.
Goalkeeper, Brice Samba could return after completing a three-match suspension.
Loic Mbe Soh (thigh) and Lewis Grabban (ankle) remain ruled out
Huddersfield could welcome Levi Colwill and Josh Koroma back after the pair missed Friday’s win over Peterborough through illness.
Tino Anjorin (fitness) and Lewis O’Brien (knee) are both considered doubts and could be rested for this match.
Alex Vallejo, Rolando Aarons (both knee) and Ryan Schofield (shoulder) remain ruled out.
Stat Attack
- Nottingham Forest are winless in two clashes against Huddersfield across one previous FA Cup tie (D1, L1), drawing 0-0 at Huddersfield before losing replay 3-0 at home in January 1939.
- Huddersfield won their only previous FA Cup visit to the City Ground (W1).
- Forest have scored six goals and conceded just once across their last three home matches in the FA Cup (W3).
- Huddersfield have converted just seven of 23 shots onto target in the FA Cup this season.
- Forest have faced just two shots on target against them so far in this season’s FA Cup.
Prediction
Having found themselves engaged in a physical encounter at Sheffield Utd on Friday night, Forest promise to be an interesting team here because I am expecting some changes but this should be a cracking match if they play like they did against Leicester in the Fourth Round.
Huddersfield meanwhile comfortably cruised past Peterborough and are unbeaten in their last 18 matches, which is awesome form for a Championship team so will certainly be eager to continue that momentum especially after winning here in their final match of 2021.
On that note, this either will be another tight cagey contest separated by one goal or a cracker and I am punting for the former, with Huddersfield just edging it in the end to secure a home Quarter-Final against Liverpool.
Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-2 Huddersfield
Result: Nottingham Forest 2-1 Huddersfield
