Wolves welcome Leicester City to Molineux in a huge Midlands derby in the race for a top seven finish.
Victory will see Wolves reclaim seventh from Tottenham Hotspur, whereas a win would see Leicester remain 11th but move to within two points of the top ten.
Team News
Joao Moutinho is set to return for Wolves after recovering from a calf injury.
Pedro Neto (knee), Yerson Mosquera (hamstring) and Willy Boly (calf) could also be in contention.
Leicester could be without James Maddison after he felt unwell during Thursday’s Europa Conference League win over Randers.
Caglar Soyuncu is a doubt after suffering a knee injury.
Ryan Bertrand (knee), Wesley Fofana (leg), James Justin (hamstring), Jonny Evans, Timothy Castagne and Jamie Vardy (all thigh) remain ruled out.
Stat Attack
- Wolves are winless in their last five matches against Leicester (D3, L2).
- Leicester are winless in four previous Premier League visits to Molineux (D2, L2), with both draws finishing goalless whilst both losses were by 4-3 results.
- Each of the last four draws in this fixture across all competitions have finished goalless, albeit with three of those four goalless draws coming at Molineux.
- Wolves have lost each of their last two home games in all competitions by 1-0 results.
- Four of Leicester’s last seven away league goals have been scored after half-time.
Prediction
Wolves were absolutely excellent in their win at Tottenham with fantastic attacking play complete with energy in their pressing, especially when following up the ball after unleashing shots whilst also producing strong defending.
Leicester meanwhile can afford to relax a bit here in their team selection given their comfortable lead over Randers in their Europa Conference League tie, although I would like to see bring more of their attacking intensity from that game into their league performances.
Do that but with more clinical finishing then I fancy them to get the win but with squad rotation likely and Wolves’ mixture of stubborn defending and strong press, this should be an interesting clash even if I don’t see a seven goal thriller on the cards.
Prediction: Wolves 1-1 Leicester
Result: Wolves 2-1 Leicester
