Charouz has signed Laszlo Toth from Campos for the 2022 F3 season.
Toth will remain in F3 for a second consecutive season despite enduring a difficult rookie campaign in 2021, which saw the Hungarian score zero points and finish 32nd in the driver standings.
Speaking about his move to Charouz, Toth admitted that he was “very happy to start working together” with Charouz, having already met the team at their Headquarters in Prague, Czech Republic and begun simulation preparations for the new season.
Expanding on why he has switched to Charouz, Toth added: “The circumstances are very good and there is a high potential in the team so I hope that we will have a successful season”
Charouz Team Owner and Principal, Antonin Charouz meanwhile described the opportunity to sign Toth as a decision which he is “very happy” with, despite the Hungarian’s poor form at Campos last season with a best race finish of 16th in the second Zandvoort race.
Charouz went on to state that Toth is “a young and promising driver” after previously competing in Spanish F4, Italian F4, ADAC F4 and Formula Renault Eurocup, during which he only mustered 16 points in total across two series within the last three seasons.
It is also hoped by Charouz that Toth’s experience will be of immense help to the team this season as Charouz added: “I’m sure it will be no problem for him to find the best way to work together with the team and get up to speed straight away from the first test sessions.”
The 2022 season will see F3 race across nine rounds with Toth set to visit Bahrain, Imola and Silverstone for the first time in F3, although he previously raced in Imola during 2020 Formula Renault Eurocup season where he failed to score points for Bhaitech Racing.
