Brentford welcome Wolves to Brentford Community Stadium in a midtable Premier League clash.
Depending on how Aston Villa fare in the lunchtime kick-off at Everton, victory could lift Brentford up to tenth for a few hours.
Wolves meanwhile can stay eighth with a win and potentially move to within one point of seventh-placed Manchester United.
Team News
Brentford have no fresh injury concerns to report following their midweek defeat against Manchester United.
Mathias Jorgensen, Charlie Goode, Tarique Fosu (all hamstring), Julian Jeanvier, David Raya (both knee), Frank Onyeka (international duty) and Josh Dasilva (hip) remain ruled out indefinitely.
Wolves could be without Ruben Neves as he continues to recover from a positive test of Coronavirus which forced him to miss their win against Southampton last weekend.
Fernando Marcal (knock) is unlikely to feature but Jonny, Pedro Neto (both knee), Yerson Mosquera, Hee-Chan Hwang (both hamstring), Willy Boly (calf) and Romain Saiss (international duty) remain absent.
Stat Attack
- Brentford won their only previous Premier League meeting against Wolves, winning 2-0 in September 2021 (W1).
- Wolves are visiting the Brentford Community Stadium for the first time but have won just one of their last four away visits to the Bees (W1, D1, L2).
- Out of this season’s three promoted teams, Brentford have picked up more yellow cards than Norwich and Watford, with Thomas Frank’s Bees shown 38 yellow cards.
- No Premier League player has been caught offside on more occasions this season than Brentford’s Ivan Toney, who has been caught offside on 19 occasions.
- All four of Raul Jimenez’s league goals for Wolves this season has been scored on his right foot.
Prediction
Having won just one of their last six league games, Brentford certainly seem to have hit a rut which was evident in how wasteful of their chances they were in midweek against Man Utd, especially given how dominant they were on the attack.
Wolves meanwhile played the patience game excellently in their win against Southampton last weekend with clinical finishing, complete with great saves from Jose Sa in a disciplined display despite conceding once from a free-kick.
On that note, I am hoping for an entertaining contest here because Brentford and Wolves are two enjoyable attacking teams, yet Wolves seem to be in the stronger form so should edge this battle.
Prediction: Brentford 1-2 Wolves
Result: Brentford 1-2 Wolves
