Manchester City extended their lead at the Premier League summit following another round of disruption.

Man City remain top for a fifth straight matchweek as Raheem Sterling struck a brace whilst Riyad Mahrez provided a goal and assist in a dramatic 6-3 win over Leicester, having initially led 4-0 at half-time before the Foxes reduced the deficit briefly to 4-3 in a ten minute spell.

Liverpool remain second but slipped six points behind Pep Guardiola’s Citizens after their clash against Leeds was postponed, after a Coronavirus outbreak left Marcelo Bielsa’s Whites unable to fulfil this fixture.

Chelsea consequently now sit third on goal difference as Jorginho’s penalty brace helped Thomas Tuchel’s Blues come from behind to win 3-1 at Aston Villa, after Reece James’ headed own goal had put the Villains ahead.

Down in the relegation zone, Norwich remain rock-bottom after suffering a 5-0 home mauling against Arsenal as Bukayo Saka struck twice, whilst Kieran Tierney, Alexandre Lacazette and Emile Smith Rowe also found the net.

Newcastle remain second-bottom after Allan Saint-Maximin’s opener was cancelled out by Edinson Cavani in a 1-1 draw at home to Manchester United.

Burnley remain third-bottom after their clash against Everton was postponed due to an Coronavirus outbreak amongst the Toffees, which means that Sean Dyche’s Clarets have now had three consecutive matches fall foul of postponements.

Elsewhere, Lucas Moura provided assists for Harry Kane and Son Heung-min in-between scoring himself as Tottenham defeated Crystal Palace to go fifth.

West Ham consequently slipped to sixth after Jan Bednarek nodded in a 70th minute winner for Southampton, as Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Saints prevailed 3-2 in a cracking thriller at London Stadium after twice conceding from in front.

Goals from Leandro Trossard and Neal Maupay fired Brighton to a 2-0 home win over Brentford to clinch their first victory in 13 matches in all competitions.

Finally, Wolves’ home clash against Watford at Molineux was postponed due to an on-going Coronavirus outbreak amongst the Hornets.
