Buxton vs Morecambe Selected Amongst Six Televised Second Round Ties in 2021-22 FA Cup

BBC will televise Buxton’s tie against Morecambe following confirmation of selected fixture for live broadcast in Second Round of 2021-22 FA Cup.

Seventh-tier Buxton will be keen to cause a cupset as they host League One’s Morecambe at The Silverlands on Saturday 4 December, in a 12:45pm GMT kick-off live on BBC One in a rare outing on BBC’s flagship channel ahead of the Third Round in January.

Buxton’s clash against Morecambe will also mark the first time that a fixture before the Third Round will air on BBC One since BBC regained the broadcasting rights in 2014.

Yeovil Town’s clash at Huish Park against the winner of MK Dons’ First Round replay against Stevenage will however be televised on BBC2 on the same date, with kick-off scheduled for 5:30pm GMT.

ITV meanwhile will air four matches starting with Charlton Athletic’s visit to National League North’s Gateshead after the North-East club defeated Altrincham 3-2 in a First Round replay, with the Addicks’ visit to Tyneside being broadcast on Friday 3 December in a 7:45pm GMT kick-off on ITV4.

ITV4 will also broadcast Salford City’s home tie against Chesterfield on Sunday 5 December from 5:15pm GMT at Peninsula Stadium, as well as the local Non League derby clash at Meadow Park between Boreham Wood and St Albans City on Monday 6 December at 7:45pm GMT.

Rochdale’s home tie against Plymouth Argyle will meanwhile be aired live on ITV1 on Sunday 5 December in a 12:15pm GMT kick-off, after both teams knocked out Notts County and Sheffield Wednesday respectively in First Round replays.

Further details of when the Third Round draw will be held will be released in coming weeks as Premier League and Championship clubs enter the mix, following completion of this round.
