2021-22 UEFA Europa League Group Stage: Week Four – Brondby vs Rangers

Brondby welcome Rangers to Brondby Stadium, Brondbyvester, in a crunch Group A clash in 2021-22 UEFA Europa League.

Victory would see Brondby climb to second if Sparta Prague fail to beat Lyon elsewhere, whereas Rangers themselves could go second with a win coupled with a Lyon victory over Sparta.

Team News

Brondby have no fresh injury concerns to report as Mads Hermansen (ankle) and Rasmus Wikstrom (shoulder) both remain absent.

Rangers could welcome Ryan Kent and Ryan Jack back from respective hamstring and calf injuries if both players pass fitness tests.

Filip Helander (knee) and Nnamdi Ofoborh (illness) are ruled out.

Stat Attack

Prediction

After finding themselves outplayed at Ibrox two weeks ago, Brondby really need a huge performance here with more attacking intent, if they’re to stand any chance of keeping their knockout dreams alive although they did well to keep their losing margin to just two goals.

Rangers meanwhile know that this is a must-win because they can put themselves in a solid qualification spot with two games left with a win coupled with a Lyon victory over Sparta Prague, so I expect Gers to come here and look to dominate on the attack like they did two weeks ago at home.

Brondby’s solid if slightly inconsistent record against Scottish teams though indicates that this might be a tougher test than many expect, yet I have a feeling that Rangers will have enough to snatch a win and extend their winning run away against Danish opposition.

Prediction: Brondby 0-1 Rangers

Result: Brondby 1-1 Rangers
