Gareth Bale Returns To Wales Squad For Crunch 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

Gareth Bale has been named in Wales’ squad for this month’s crunch World Cup qualifiers against Belarus and Belgium.

Bale missed last month’s qualifiers against Czech Republic and Estonia with a hamstring injury but is now back for Wales’ two must-win qualifiers if they’re to claim a play-off spot for next year’s World Cup.

Luton’s Tom Lockyer meanwhile has been snubbed in defence as Ben Cabango returns to the squad after missing September and October’s action through injury.

Ethan Ampadu and Sorba Thomas have been moved from defence and forward selections respectively into midfield, as Matthew Smith and Mark Harris are dropped from the squad.

Bournemouth’s David Brooks meanwhile is absent after he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma last month.

Wales’ goalkeeper selection of Wayne Hennessey, Danny Ward and Adam Davies remain unchanged.

Robert Page’s Welsh Dragons come into these two international fixtures knowing that they must win both matches and hope that Czech Republic slip up in their final group match against Estonia elsewhere.

Here is Wales’ 26-man squad for next month’s away qualifiers against Belarus and Belgium on 13 & 16 November.

Goalkeepers: Wayne Hennessey (Burnley), Danny Ward (Leicester City), Adam Davies (Stoke City)
