Leicester and West Ham Discover 2021-22 Europa League Groups

Leicester City and West Ham have discovered their groups for the Group Stage of 2021-22 Europa League.

Brendan Rogers’ Foxes have been placed in Group C where they will face Napoli, Spartak Moscow and Legia Warsaw, in their quest to reach the knockout stage for a second consecutive season.

West Ham meanwhile have been placed in Group H alongside Dinamo Zagreb, Genk and Rapid Wien, as David Moyes’ Hammers look to enjoy a strong cup run in Europe this season after qualifying for the Group Stage for the first time after previously falling twice in Qualifying rounds of this rebranded competition.

Rangers’ reward for overcoming Alashkert in the Play-Offs is a spot in Group A, where they will take on Lyon, Sparta Prague and Brondby in their bid to advance to the knockouts for a third consecutive season.

Celtic face a tough group after finding themselves placed in Group G alongside Bayer Leverkusen, Real Betis and Ferencvaros.

The Group Stage will kick off on Thursday 16 September 2021 and conclude on Thursday 9 December, although some fixtures could be played on the preceding Wednesdays depending on fixture clashes with other UEFA competitions due to UEFA rules surrounding matches held in same cities.

This season sees a reduction in groups with Groups I, J, K and L all dropped due to the creation of the new UEFA Europa Conference League competition, meaning that the Europa League only contains eight groups instead of the traditional 12 from this season onwards.

Here are the eight groups in full.

Group A Group B Group C Group D
Lyon Monaco Napoli Olympiacos
Rangers PSV Eindhoven Leicester Eintracht Frankfurt
