2021-22 Premier League: Week Three – Norwich vs Leicester

Norwich City welcome Leicester City to Carrow Road as both teams look to bounce back from brutal defeats last weekend.

Victory would lift Norwich out of the relegation zone, whereas Leicester can climb into the top ten with a win.

Onel Hernandez and Przemyslaw Placheta are unlikely to feature for Norwich after spending time in self-isolation following a positive Coronavirus test.

Sam Byram remains ruled out with a thigh injury.

Leicester will be without Ayoze Perez after the Spaniard was sent off in Monday’s 4-1 loss at West Ham.

Jannik Vestergaard is a doubt after suffering a knock to his knee.

Ryan Bertrand (Coronavirus), Jonny Evans (foot), James Justin, Wesley Fofana (both knee) and Nampalys Mendy (groin) remain ruled out.

Prediction

Having hardly had chance to show their potential in two brutal opening league games, Norwich were just electric in Tuesday’s midweek home victory over Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup so they now have to manage the fresh pressure of increased expectation and transfer that Cup performance into their league games.

Leicester meanwhile were simply outplayed by a ruthless West Ham side with some questionable defending which needs addressing, especially with a hectic fixture schedule in the coming months so I do expect to see a serious response here despite their recent hoodoo at Carrow Road.

Both teams therefore come into this match with questions to answer so I can see an interesting match and it is games like this which ultimately cost Leicester a top four finish in last two seasons, so I fancy the Foxes to correct that now to give them a confidence boost heading into the international break.

Prediction: Norwich 1-2 Leicester

Result: Norwich 1-2 Leicester
