Nick Pope is a doubt for Burnley after missing Saturday’s loss to Leeds with a knee injury.
Dale Stephens (ankle) and Phil Bardsley (hernia) are ruled out of the Clarets’ last two games of this season, with both players having needed surgery.
Kevin Long (calf) and Robbie Brady (Achilles) remain absent.
Liverpool could welcome Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain back from illness which kept him out of Sunday’s comeback victory at West Brom.
James Milner (unspecified) and Naby Keita (muscle) won’t be risked unless fully match fit.
Joel Matip (ankle), Joe Gomez, Virgil Van Dijk (both knee), Jordan Henderson (adductor) , Diogo Jota (foot) Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak (both muscle) remain ruled out.
Stat Attack
- Burnley have claimed just four points from their last six meetings against Liverpool (W1, D1, L4).
- Liverpool have lost just one of six Premier League visits to Turf Moor (W5, L1).
- Jurgen Klopp’s Reds have scored three goals in each of their last two trips to Burnley, with Roberto Firmino scoring in both games.
- Out of 41 clearances made by Burnley’s two goalkeepers, only one clearance was made by Bailey Peacock-Farrell.
- Coming into this matchweek, Liverpool are one of three teams to have scored a league-high 14 league goals this season via headers this season.
Prediction
Burnley’s season might be done but they will be keen to give fans a strong performance, having been simply outplayed on Saturday by Leeds through poor defending because they did create plenty of chances themselves but just failed to finish those opportunities.
Liverpool meanwhile were relentlessly dangerous against West Brom on the attack yet struggled to finish their opportunities through stubborn defending, so if Burnley can deploy their defensive standards then this should be a tough game.
This though is a huge opportunity for Jurgen Klopp’s Reds to go fourth and put their destiny in their own hands on the final day, which I think they will take if can sort out their finishing because their form here at Turf Moor is excellent.
Prediction: Burnley 0-2 Liverpool
Result: Burnley 0-3 Liverpool
