Dates Confirmed For Remaining Rounds of 2020-21 Women’s FA Cup

English Football Association (FA) have announced the dates for the remaining rounds of 2020-21 Women’s FA Cup, which will be completed next season.

All fixtures will be televised across BBC and FA Player beginning with the Quarter Finals, which take place across the midweek of 29-30 September 2021.

Both semi-finals will be broadcast live on BBC on Sunday 31 October alongside the Final, which will take place on Sunday 5 December with a 3pm kick-off.

The rearranged date of the final has been selected to coincide with the centenary of the FA’s ban on Women’s Football being played at same venues as male teams which fell on that date in 1921, following a period of success throughout World War One.

FA Director of Women’s Professional Game, Kelly Simmons explained that this decision to hold the Final in early December came as a “fitting” tribute to celebrate how far the game has come since football’s “lowest ebb” in terms of equality.

Discussing this decision in-depth, Simmons spoke of celebrating the sport’s progress, commenting; “… as a platform to celebrate the game’s historic trailblazers who we remain forever indebted to, while also acknowledging the growth and development in the modern era.”

England will host the delayed UEFA Women’s Euros next summer and Simmons hopes this event will boost build-up atmosphere, saying; “Watching our best players at one of the best stadiums in the world, will hopefully continue to inspire a new generation to fall in love with women’s football.”

It has also been confirmed that BBC will televise the Fifth Round tie between reigning Women’s Super League champions – Chelsea as they host Everton at Kingsmeadow on Thursday 20 May, with the tie being streamed on the Red Button and online.

Here are the dates for the remaining rounds of this season’s Women’s FA Cup in full.

Fifth Round – Sunday 16 May

Quarter Finals – 29-30 September

Semi Finals – Sunday 31 October

Final – Sunday 5 December
