Wolverhampton Wanderers welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Molineux live on BBC One in the opening Super Sunday match.
Victory will see Wolves restore their four point lead in 12th ahead of Crystal Palace, whereas Brighton can secure safety with a win and go 14th.
Team News
Joao Moutinho is in contention for Wolves after recovering from an ankle injury which kept him out of last Monday’s 1-1 draw at West Brom.
Rayan Ait Nouri (knock) is a doubt and could join Willy Boly (fatigue), Jonny, Pedro Neto (both knee), Fernando Marcal (groin) and Raul Jimenez (head) on the sidelines.
Brighton could be without Adam Lallana (calf) for a second consecutive match as Florian Andone, Tariq Lamptey (both hamstring) and Solly March (knee) remain absent.
Stat Attack
- Wolves are winless in their five Premier League meetings against Brighton (D4, L1).
- Brighton have lost just one of their last nine trips to Molineux (W1, D7, L1)
- Each of the last two meetings between Wolves and Brighton at Molineux have finished in goalless draws.
- No Wolves player has made more blocks this season than Conor Coady, who has made 28 blocks in 33 league appearances.
- Seven of Neal Maupay’s eight league goals for Brighton this season has come on his right foot.
Prediction
Having scrapped their way to a 1-1 draw at West Brom last week, Wolves should look to build on that performance if they’re to build momentum heading into next season, where they should look to again push for Europe.
I however am slightly cautious on Wolves’ chances here because they have failed to win two previous Premier League matches broadcast on BBC (D1, L1), especially after their shambolic home display against Burnley a fortnight ago which still rings in my mind.
Brighton meanwhile finally delivered a strong all-round performance in their win over Leeds last weekend, so this feels like a test now as to whether they can turn their improvement into proper consistency in these final few weeks of this season.
I am therefore expecting an entertaining contest because these two teams do look evenly matched quality, as evidenced by recent meetings here but if Brighton can again be clinical then I can see them getting a result.
Prediction: Wolves 1-2 Brighton
Result: Wolves 2-1 Brighton
