2020-21 UEFA Champions League Semi Finals: Second Leg – Manchester City vs PSG

Manchester City welcome PSG to the Etihad Stadium in the second leg of their 2020-21 UEFA Champions League Semi Final.

Having come from behind in the first leg to claim a 2-1 win, Man City know that a draw or win would see them advance, although they would progress despite suffering defeat if they lose by just one goal.

PSG however must simply win score at least twice if they’re to stand any chance at reaching a second consecutive Final.

Man City have no fresh injury concerns to report with a full squad available for selection after clinching a domestic away win at Crystal Palace on Saturday lunchtime.

PSG could be without Kylian Mbappe after a calf injury kept the French striker out of their home win over Lens in Ligue 1 on Saturday.

Alexandre Letellier (thigh) and Juan Bernat (knee) remain absent.

Prediction

Having fought back from a disastrous first half display in the first leg to put their destiny into their own hands, Man City need to simply take control of this game quickly and dictate the pace otherwise PSG will smell a chance if they score first.

Pep Guardiola’s Citizens however cannot afford to play their high pressing tactics which we saw in a clinical quick-fire win at Crystal Palace on Saturday, otherwise PSG could punish those defensive errors in the way that Palace failed to do so.

Speaking of PSG, they really could do with Mbappe starting given his recent away form given that they have failed to score in two previous trips to City, especially as they cannot afford to even draw here if they want to reach the Final.

On that note, I do expect a proper contest here between two top teams but if City can play like they did in the second half on Saturday and with Kevin De Bruyne back in the line-up, they should have enough to pull through.

Prediction: Manchester City 1-1 PSG

Result: Manchester City 2-0 PSG (Manchester City win 4-1 on aggregate!!)
