Third meets first as Leicester City welcome Manchester City to the King Power Stadium in a blockbuster Premier League clash on Easter Saturday.
Victory would see Leicester move into second for at least 26 hours, whereas league leaders – Man City can move 17 points clear of Manchester United with a win.
Team News
James Maddison is set to return for Leicester after a hip injury kept him out of their last six matches.
Ricardo Pereira (hamstring) is also in contention to return but Harvey Barnes, James Justin (both knee), Cengiz Under (thigh) and Wes Morgan (back) remain absent.
Man City have no fresh injury concerns to report with a full squad available for selection.
Stat Attack
- Leicester have won two of their last five meetings against Man City (W2, L3).
- Man City have claimed seven points from their last five league trips to Leicester (W2, D1, L2).
- Brendan Rogers’ Foxes has scored first in three of their last five home matches in the Premier League (W3, L2).
- Pep Guardiola’s City have scored first in their last eight away league games (W8).
- Leicester lost their only previous home league game refereed by Paul Tierney this season, as they blew an early lead to lose 3-1 to Arsenal in late February.
Prediction
Having stunned Man Utd in the FA Cup last time out with an unbeatable performance in which they pressed well throughout and took their chances clinically, Leicester can come here with plenty of confidence with Maddison also back to add extra creative threats in midfield.
Man City meanwhile were made to grind out a two goal away FA Cup win at Everton despite delivering an uncharacteristically off tempo and wasteful performance, which is a slight worry given that Pep Guardiola will have one eye on Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund.
I therefore am expecting a cagey contest because I can see Leicester coming out and taking the game to Man City, especially given the possibility of Guardiola resting key players here which might well play into the Foxes’ hands if they are clinical enough.
Prediction: Leicester 2-1 Manchester City
Result: Leicester 0-2 Manchester City
